DESCRIPTION:The Tallassee Parks and Recreation Board is sponsoring the third annual Heart Walk.  The Chamber’s Beautification Committee is participating by hosting their annual Arbor Day tree seedling give-away during the event. The walk begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25. You can pre-register for the event at the Recreation Department from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. through Feb. 17 or you can just register the morning of the walk at the Welcome Center at 104 East James Street. That is where the walk will start. The fee for participation is $20, and a portion of the proceeds go to the American Heart Association. Those who register by Feb. 17 will receive a free T-shirt with the Heart Walk logo and slogan “…and the beat goes on…”
